I love my life!!! No visa yet, broken shoe

Hola,
I'm not sure where to start. I love my life! I could not be happier about where I am, and I know that the Lord has had a hand in my everyday life. I now have the opportunity to be serving as District Leader (Sister Trainer Leader) which is a little stressful. Hey guess what I only have 3 more Sunday at the MTC and I'm out of here:)))))) Ok I better answer mom's questions:)

1. Have you heard anything about your visa? No news about my visa, but two of the girls in our district have them so hopeful mine will be ready soon. We have to fly  to Nevada to go get them when they are ready. Two girls from our zone went today, so if you don't hear from me one week it will be because I went to get my visa.

2. What is your favorite part of the day? My favorite part of the day is everything probably teaching our investigators and personal and companion study.

3.Are you keeping warm? (Melanie only has summer clothes because Mexico is warm....Provo, Utah has snow:))  No I'm not keeping warm, but I'm trying to enjoy it now because Mexico is going to be hot:)

4. Do you need anything? I don't think so. Letters are great and maybe some more little church sock things.

5. Tell us about your companion.  I love my companion so much.  She is Heaven sent and I know that God put her in my life for a reason. She is so patient and loving to me and I love her attitude about teaching!

6.Tell us what you do for exercise.   Exercise: well one of the girls in my district gets up with me every so often and watches me run in the morning.   During exercise time at 12 all the girls in our zone do full out workouts that are crazy hard. Sometimes we play basketball with the guys, but I was getting way to competitive  so I will probably not play any more.

7. Are your shoes comfy? Ok so one pair of my shoes is broken. The velcro does not work so they don't stay on, what do you want me to do?

8. Do you get to go to the temple each week?  Yes we go to the temple every preparation day.

9. Tell us about a time that your teacher complimented your Spanish.  Well just this week my teacher told me that my spanish is getting a little bit better.  He said he loves when I teach because I don't hold back even if it is wrong. There is something about testifying that is so amazing, it is my favorite thing. Spanish is still hard, but I love it and I'm finally realizing that through God it is possible. I know that even if I never fully learn Spanish I will be able to testify in Mexico and I will be able to use my hands to work and help the people.

10.  Tell us about a time that you felt the spirit this week.  That is a hard question everyday I get to feel the spirit. This week though I have had the special opportunity to use the Atonement in ways that I have never done before. I have realized that I have never really understood the Atonement so being here has help me understand it more because I can't pick up the phone and ask my parents for help.  Instead I had had to turn to the Savior and it has been amazing.

11.  Tell us about a time that someone served you. Ok so this is a very special thing: My companion has been there every day for me in helping me with Spanish.  Every day she tells me I'm getting better, but last night she sat right next to me and helped me sound out every word as I read the Book of Mormon in Spanish. It was so special and to be honest, my whole life came full circle. I can now say with all my heart that I'm so happy I have dyslexia. The experience of learning how to read is exactly how I feel here. As I was sounding out each word it was like old times all over again. I know how to do it though and I know Heavenly Father can help me do it because he helped me learn to read in English so I know I can read in Spanish, it will just take time.

12. What are Sunday like in the MTC? Sundays are amazing! Lots of meeting, but my favorite thing about Sundays is when the mission president comes and talks to us with his wife. I love that man he has been a strength to me. I will try and take a pic with them so you can see them!

Ok so if you have not realized it already..... I LOVE TEACHING!!!!! It is so amazing, I can't wait to tell  real people about the gospel.  In Alma 46:12 it talks about the Title of Liberty. We read the whole chapter in class one day and our teacher pointed out that our name tags are our Title of Liberty, they have 3 important names on them, just like the Title of Liberty did, of what they were fighting for. Ok one more preachy thing sorry, we learned about prayer in class and I would just invite all of us to think about prayer differently. I have been thinking about it my whole life as a check list thing, but it is not. I would invite all of us to listen after our prayers to what he has to say to us. it is a two way phone call so listen to the other side. I need to work on that:) It hit me really hard this week that just like I miss all of you, God misses His children even more so it is important that I go to Mexico so that I can help bring them back to Him:))))))))

One more thing, I got to testify of eternal families this week and I took my picture of you guys to the lesson and I felt the spirit so strong and so did our investigator. I showed her the picture and I told her I would not be here if I did not know that my family was forever. I got chocked up  and she felt the spirit.  There is not doubt that we WILL be together FOREVER, so enjoy your break from me while you can!!!!! lol I love you all :))))

THE CHURCH IS TRUE!!!!!

Ok, I have to go but I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Work is moving forward!!!!!!!!
